The purpose of this EEO Public File Report is to comply with Section 73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule.  This Report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following station(s): KMSO, KMSO HD2, KMSO HD3 Missoula, Montana,  and KHDV, Darby, Montana and has been placed in the public inspection files of these stations, and posted on our website.

 

The information in this report covers the time period beginning December 1, 2015 to and including November 30, 2016.

 

The FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule requires that this Report contain the following information:

 

  • A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station(s) comprising the Station Employment Unit during the Applicable Period;

 

  • For each such vacancy, the recruitment sources(s) utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73.2080(c) (1)(ii) of the new EEO Rule, which should be separately identified), identified by name, address, contact person and telephone number;

 

  • The recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable period;

 

  • Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies; and

 

  • A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Section 73.2080(c) (2) of the FCC rules.

Section 3: Supplemental (non-vacancy specific) recruitment activities undertaken by stations KMSO, KHDV, KMSO HD2, KMSO HD3

 

 

  1. SC&F, Inc. is a founding partner in the “Graduation Matters” initiative providing creative, production and air time to encourage students to stay in school and get additional training for careers including careers in broadcasting.

 

  1. April 27, 2016 KMSO, KHDV was a major sponsor and member of the planning committee for the Missoula Job Service career fair. The stations were represented by the General Manager.

 

  1. June 20, 2016 General Manager Sheila Callahan and CFO Max Murphy participated in an NFIB webiner on the changes that were made in the FLSA to be effective December 1, 2016. The webinar discussed how the changes would affect the classification and compensation of hourly employees.

 

  1. Max Murphy, CFO has met with the Montana College several times during this reporting period to discuss the skills needed in broadcasting for their electronics and IT programs. Mr. Murphy also discussed internship programs and scholarships and provided the information to the Montana Broadcasters Association for dissemination.

 

  1. December 2015 – November 2016 we ran schedules on KMSO and KHDV to notify groups and organizations that any job openings would be sent to their organization upon their request. This spot ran 732 times on KHDV and 723 times on KMSO.

 

  1. Between June and November 2016 station KMSO ran three news stories regarding classification and compensation changes for hourly employees.

 

  1. All Mountain Broadcasting sales employees participated in professional training and coaching designed to improve their skills by a national sales training company. The sessions where 1-2 hours each and four were held between December 1, 2015 and November 30th, 2016.

 

  1. All Mountain Broadcasting on air employees participated in a four-day training on air, voice tracking and production skills using new equipment provided by the company. The training occurred August 1 – 5 of 2016.

 

  1. Three Mountain Broadcasting employees completed training module on music scheduling to either add to or enhance their skills in this arena.
