After years of planning, the housing and retail project off Scott Street is set to commence next month, following approval from the Missoula Redevelopment Agency (MRA) on December 1, 2023.
The MRA sanctioned bonding up to $5.7 million for infrastructure costs and $3.2 million to cover the construction gap in developing 45 income-restricted housing units, pending approval from the Missoula City Council.
The project, spanning over 19 acres, will provide a blend of workforce and market-rate housing, and the MRA expressed optimism despite acknowledging the challenges, drawing parallels to the successful Old Sawmill redevelopment.
