The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) have been awarded a federal grant from the Nationally Significant Federal Lands and Tribal Projects (NSFLTP) program.
The grant will be used to rehabilitate a section of US Highway 93 through the Ninepipe and Post Creek sections, and will include a bridge, passing lane, traffic safety improvements, wildlife infrastructure, and a shared-use path.
The grant application was submitted to the Federal Highway Administration, and the tribes received a portion of the requested funding to proceed with the rehabilitation of US 93. The project will be carried out in collaboration with the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT).
