The Missoula City Council and County Commissioners have unanimously voted to adopt a term sheet for the Green Power Program, marking a significant step towards achieving Missoula's goal of supplying 100% clean energy by 2030.
The program, voluntary for NorthWestern Energy customers, allows them to choose power from a new source of green energy generated by solar or wind farms in their homes.
While there may be an initial increase in energy bills, participants will benefit from the environmental and economic advantages of green energy, with the city and county now working with the Public Service Commission to approve construction projects for the new green energy resources.
