Missoula County and the city of Missoula are planning to consolidate government services in the historic former federal building at 200 E. Broadway by 2026.
This move will free up aging buildings currently occupied by both governments for sale to developers and potential redevelopment.
The building will be named the John Engen Local Government Building in honor of the late Missoula mayor, John Engen, who strongly advocated for the transfer of the building from the federal government to local government after the Forest Service moved out in 2015.
